I work alongside my clients to help them feel curious and gain understanding about the things they struggle with and themselves as people. My hope is that our collaborative effort to understand all of you will allow you to find solutions to the challenges you face in your own unique way. I know this can be a intimidating task; I try hard to help you feel supported in it, so you have the space to be curious about parts of yourself that might be hard to face alone.

Treatment Approach

  • Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
  • Play Therapy Uses toys, games, and creative play to help children express emotions. It is especially useful when children can’t fully verbalize their feelings.
  • Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Self Psychology Explores the development of self-esteem and identity. It emphasizes the importance of empathy in healing.
Approach Description: My work draws from various psychoanalytic theories including self psychology, object relations, drive, and relational psychoanalytic theories. With most, this looks like a client-driven, unstructured, non-directive, depth oriented therapy aimed at helping people understand themselves in a way they may not be able to do alone. With children, this often involves play therapy and supportive parent sessions.
