Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Jungian Therapy Draws on Carl Jung’s ideas about archetypes, dreams, and the collective unconscious. It helps people explore deeper layers of meaning.
  • Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
  • Transpersonal Therapy Integrates spirituality and higher states of consciousness with psychology. It encourages growth beyond the individual self.
Approach Description: My approach is integrative, collaborative, and tailored to your needs. I draw on IFS-informed parts work, psychodynamic and Jungian perspectives, mindfulness, inner child work, inner bondings, and somatic practices to explore the connections between your emotions, thoughts, physical responses, and relationships. Through parts work, we approach your inner experiences with curiosity. The part that worries, criticizes, withdraws, or works tirelessly to please others may have developed to protect you. Understanding these protective responses can help you relate to yourself with greater compassion and discover more flexible ways of responding. We also explore how earlier experiences influence your present life. Depending on your needs, sessions may include reflection, grounding, breath awareness, guided imagery, or attention to sensations in the body. We work at a pace that feels manageable, connecting insight with practical steps toward your goals. Spiritual exploration is available when it fits your beliefs and interests.

Therapy Sessions Inessa Freylekhman Practice Description
lluminated Counseling offers online psychotherapy for adults in North Carolina, Florida, and California. I’m Inessa Freylekhman, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with master’s degrees in Spiritual Psychology and Counseling Psychology. My work brings together a deep interest in our inner lives with practical support for navigating everyday challenges. I support people experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and the lingering effects of painful experiences. You may feel caught in overthinking, people-pleasing, self-criticism, or taking care of everyone else while losing touch with your own needs. Together, we explore how these patterns developed and what can help you move forward with greater choice and confidence. Our work can include understanding childhood and family influences, strengthening boundaries, processing difficult emotions, and learning to respond to yourself with more care. For those navigating relationship struggles, we explore communication, trust, intimacy, and the balance between connection and individuality. My style is warm, engaged, collaborative, and gently direct. I bring curiosity and compassion to our conversations while helping you recognize patterns that may be difficult to see on your own. We make room for both deeper exploration and meaningful changes you can practice between sessions. My background in spiritual and depth psychology also allows space for questions of identity, meaning, and purpose. Spirituality is welcome when it matters to you, and our work always respects your personal beliefs and preferences. Therapy is a space to understand yourself more fully and develop new ways of relating to your emotions, your relationships, and your life. If this approach resonates with you, I invite you to contact me to discuss working together.
