"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." Arthur Ashe -
Although we have likely heard 'time heals all' in my personal journey as a trauma survivor and clinician, I have found that sometimes the most profound, transformative healing takes place within the safety of a supportive client-therapist relationship. Having authentic connections can impact our ability to fully engage ourselves in the work needed to create change .... and finding the right therapist can be the first step in accomplishing your counselling goals!
We all need support sometimes... I am honoured when people allow me to offer support & counselling during a season when anxiety or depression, grief or loss (including pregnancy loss), trauma or intra-personal distress becomes overwhelming, or when you simply feel it's the right time to work through some issues.
Authenticity, trust and respect are the values of my practice, and I am available to support you as you pursue the changes you want your life.
Please feel completely welcome to contact me to schedule a complimentary 15 minute telephone or video consultation so we can decide if working together is the right fit for your needs and my areas of expertise!

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Control Mastery Theory Helps clients uncover unconscious beliefs formed in childhood that may still be blocking them. It supports testing and changing these beliefs in a safe relationship.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
Approach Description: I integrate mindfulness based, EMDR, positive psychology, emotion focused, CBT, DBT and narrative therapeutic approaches.

I hold a masters degree in social work and bring 21 years compassionate experience in community-based & healthcare settings providing trauma-informed, spiritually sensitive and culturally safe counselling for individuals, families and groups. I am registered with both the BC and AB Colleges of Social Workers and a member of the BC Association of Social Workers.
I also offer Eye Movement & Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for individuals, first responders or veterans suffering with anxiety, trauma and PTSD. EMDR is a brief trauma therapy that can be very cost effective, as it can move you through the root of chronic symptoms that traditional talk and cognitive therapies cannot address as effectively. EMDR can alleviate PTSD related stress and enhance your quality of life by unblocking negative thoughts and sensations from the past that are distorting your present and future. EMDR can increase your resilience to negative experiences and support you to recover from them faster when they are unavoidable.
