Michelle VanderJagt Practice Description
I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. Much of that time was spent working in psychiatric hospitals. This allowed me to work with so many different people with massive variety in terms of symptoms, diagnoses and life circumstances. While working in these settings I observed how our habit of labeling, diagnosing and overmedicating people is helping them survive, but not necessarily to thrive. Getting to the point where you feel, at least in part, as though you are thriving means building a strong healthy foundation and then exploring your own unique story. Healthy connections, first to oneself and then to those around us, is what truly leads to healing. Good therapy helps us work through what is keeping us from those healthy connections.
