I help people alleviate anxiety and depression, as well as create relationship transformations.
Stress is part of life, but struggling relationships, anxiety and depression do not need to be. I help people change their stories and the trajectory of their lives by helping them decrease depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns. Most importantly, I help people learn how to sustain and maintain their happiness and peace. The goal is not less suffering. The goal is to know how to sustain and maintain happiness and peace.
If you're having trouble getting ahead of your thoughts, emotions, or behaviours know that relief is possible, and success can be made inevitable.
If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, or in your relationships, know that you deserve more than just relief. You deserve lasting change that you know how to sustain, maintain and grow.
In the relationship counselling, there is a focus on helping individuals and couples create a second version of their relationship. The second version may be working through reconciliation after infidelity, learning how to co-parent, deciding to stay or go, working through separation and on separation agreements, or reconnecting after years of disconnection.
In anxiety or depression counselling, there is a focus on mental and emotional struggle and learning how define and create happiness and peace. There is special attention given to learning to sustain and maintain this peace and happiness in the future.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
- Contemplative Psychotherapy Combines mindfulness and meditation practices with modern psychology. It encourages awareness and compassion as part of the healing process.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Neuropsychology Examines how brain function affects thinking, memory, and behavior. It often involves assessment and rehabilitation strategies.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.

My Style of Therapy
I help people change their stories and the trajectories of their lives and relationships.
I like to get at the issues quickly, and although I speak in kindness, I do not mix my words; this helps make therapy efficient and effective. My approach is direct and solution-focused. My therapy style promotes relief and healing. There is a focus on change and growth, so new ways of being and experiencing, are not only identified and established but sustained and maintained. People often seek only relief, but relief doesn’t necessarily bring happiness and peace, and rarely creates sustainable, maintainable change.
My Philosophy
Change requires change.
The only change you have control over is the change in your future self. Most people who seek relief from relationship struggles, anxiety, or depression are seeking change. Often though, what they want is the outside world to be different. I wish I could change the world for each of these people so that life could be more comfortable, free of relationship struggle, anxiety and depression. But I can’t, so I help them identify how they have accidentally created what they do not want to experience, and how to create what they do.
My Background and Approach
No one can take or give happiness, and only you can use it; First, you must know how.
My background is in Clinical Psychology, Positive Psychology and Transpersonal Psychology. I am a trained Transcendental Meditator, and a registered Clinical Hypnotherapist, and include these modalities in many treatment plans. Additionally, I rely on intuition, knowing, and seeing to help guide me through the therapy process. Approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), from Clinical Psychology, combine well with mindfulness, and a variety of meditative approaches from Transpersonal Psychology. Finally, rather than focusing solely on problems, concerns or issues I focus on, with the help of my Positive Psychology education, what is working, where the strengths are, and what should be built on.
My Education
Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Alberta
Certificate in Positive Psychology from the Institute of Wholebeing
Registered Clinical Hypnotherapist from Excel Hypnotherapy College
Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Yorkville University
Ph.D. (Student) in Transpersonal and Integral Psychology, California Institute of Integral Studies
Trained in Transcendental Meditation, Calgary TM Centre
