If life feels overwhelming, therapy can help you find a way forward. My aim is simple: to help you feel better, think more clearly and feel more in control of your life.
Whether you are struggling with illness, anxiety, relationships, difficult emotions or unwanted habits, we can work together to make things feel more manageable.
I take a whole-person approach. We look at what is happening in your mind and body, as well as the relationships and circumstances that shape your life. I will help you understand what you need and develop practical ways to feel better and make lasting changes.
I can help with things like anxiety, low mood, smoking, drinking, binge eating, nail biting, doom scrolling and other habits you would like to change. I can also help you build healthier behaviours, greater confidence and emotional resilience.
My approach combines Human Givens therapy where we look at whether your basic emotional needs are being met, hypnotherapy, and Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT). You will have tools and practical resources to use between sessions, including recordings and handouts.

Treatment Approach
- Hypnotherapy Uses guided relaxation and focus to access the subconscious mind. It is often used for habits, anxiety, and pain management.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Jungian Therapy Draws on Carl Jung’s ideas about archetypes, dreams, and the collective unconscious. It helps people explore deeper layers of meaning.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
- Transactional Analysis Explores interactions through the lens of Parent, Adult, and Child roles. It aims to improve communication and self-awareness.
Approach Description: My approach is to work with the whole person and listen carefully and non-judgmentally to your concerns. I offer psycho-education, coping skills, and practical tools and strategies to address your issues, as well as hope that things can be better.

In almost two decades of private practice I have helped people with issues ranging from the straightforward (stop nail biting) to the complex (dissociation and trauma). I am an integrative therapist, so I look at the whole person: mind, body and spirit. I ask my clients about the environment, communities and relationships they are in, I listen carefully, and use the therapy modalities that best suit the client and their issues.
I work with clients in-person in my Edinburgh office,
Hypnotherapy provides a wide range of techniques for releasing trauma, transforming negative emotions, changing behaviours, and learning more about yourself. It is often quicker than traditional talking therapies because it works with the subconscious mind as well as the body. If clients want, I can also do transpersonal work, that moves into the metaphysical realm.
The Human Givens approach looks at which emotional needs are not being met, and uses guided imagery to reduce the impact that past traumas have on how you function, so that you can think clearly again. The well-known Rewind technique help to release trauma from the body. HG therapy also aims to connect you to your own innate resources. You already have everything you need to function well, it is just a matter of using your resources appropriately and perhaps learning some new coping skills.
Another therapy I use often is AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy) which is a gentle way of healing from trauma, whether physical or emotional, and incorporates muscle testing (applied kinesiology) and energy psychology.
I'm happy to discuss which therapies might be best for you, and which you might be interested in, and once we have done our intake session can come up with a plan of action for positive change!
