Treatment Approach
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) Helps clients challenge and replace irrational beliefs. It is an action-oriented approach for lasting change.
Approach Description: My clinical approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in nervous-system regulation. I focus on helping clients understand how trauma, attachment patterns, and past experiences influence current emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Treatment is individualized and paced carefully to support safety, stabilization, and long-term change.
I integrate EMDR, parts work based in structural dissociation theory, DBT skills, Finding Solid Ground, DBR, mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral techniques. Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, therapy emphasizes building internal awareness, emotional regulation, and a more compassionate relationship with oneself.

Inner Balance Counseling is a group therapy practice with over 15 clinicians offering trauma-informed mental health services for adults. Our therapists specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, dissociation, mood disorders, anxiety, and relationship concerns using evidence-based and integrative approaches.
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming—especially when you are managing trauma, long-standing emotional patterns, or symptoms that have not responded to previous treatment. I work with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, dissociation, relationship concerns, and the lasting impact of growing up in unsafe or unpredictable environments.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant with over a decade of clinical experience. I specialize in complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and chronic emotional overwhelm, particularly for individuals who have received multiple diagnoses or who have felt misunderstood or “too much” in prior therapy. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care and emphasizes thoughtful pacing, clarity, and respect for each client’s capacity.
My approach integrates EMDR, parts-based work informed by structural dissociation theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Finding Solid Ground, Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), mindfulness, and cognitive-behavioral strategies. Treatment focuses on understanding how past experiences continue to shape present-day reactions, while supporting meaningful change without forcing or retraumatizing the nervous system.
I believe therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, well-paced, and grounded in a clear understanding of trauma’s impact. Rather than focusing on what is “wrong,” therapy supports insight, stability, and forward movement in a way that is sustainable over time.
