I’m here to support you! I believe that you are more than what has happened to you, the roles you have learned to carry, or the ways you have adapted to survive. Therapy can offer a space to reconnect with yourself beneath those experiences, while honoring the wisdom, complexity, and humanity you already bring with you. I approach my work with you with curiosity, compassion, intuition, and deep respect for your autonomy. My intention is to offer a relationship and space where you can feel seen and supported, listen more deeply to yourself, and explore what becomes possible when you have greater access to awareness, choice, and your own embodied wisdom.

Client Focus

Session Format: Group, Individual sessions.
Age Specialty: Adult
Demographic Expertise: Black / African American, Christian, Hispanic / Latino, LGBTQ+, Women clients.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Combines low doses of ketamine with psychotherapy to treat depression, trauma, and anxiety. It can provide relief when other methods haven’t worked.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
  • Transpersonal Therapy Integrates spirituality and higher states of consciousness with psychology. It encourages growth beyond the individual self.
Approach Description: I practice from an integrative approach that brings evidence-based clinical care into relationship with somatic, strengths-based, holistic, and trauma-informed perspectives. Rather than asking you to fit a particular therapeutic method, I draw from different approaches based on who you are, what you need, and what emerges in our work together. My eclectic approach is deeply informed by somatic practice, which means we can work with more than thoughts or narratives alone. Attention is given to the body and nervous system, emotions, inner experience, relationships, meaning, and the ways your experiences are held and expressed within you. Sessions may incorporate Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, self-compassion practices, Embodied Sovereignty techniques, and Esoteric Reframing. When clinically appropriate, psychedelic-assisted therapy, preparation, and integration may also be incorporated.

Therapy Sessions Iam Jophiel, LCSW, SEP, CPAT, CCTP-II Practice Description
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, PTSD and complex trauma, diminished self-worth, burnout, compassion fatigue, spiritual or religious concerns, and the challenges that can accompany transition, loss, and change. I also specialize in supporting helping professionals, as well as highly sensitive and neurodivergent adults. My work goes beyond simply helping you manage symptoms. Together, we may explore patterns of self-abandonment, old narratives, and ways of coping that once helped you survive but may no longer support the life you want to live. We can strengthen your ability to recognize what is happening within you, care for your nervous system, trust your own experience, and respond to yourself with greater awareness and compassion. I believe your body holds an inherent wisdom and fundamental capacity for healing, and that meaningful change takes time and cannot be forced. Our work together honors this by intentionally creating space for awareness, choice, and self-trust to deepen at a pace that respects you and your experience. From there, greater freedom can emerge to risk, hope, love, and live more authentically.
