Let’s be honest...life can be a lot. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck in old patterns, or just trying to make sense of... everything, you’re in the right place. Whatever brings you here, I truly believe that life’s ups and downs (and even those curveballs we never asked for) can offer hidden opportunities to learn, grow, and reconnect with what matters most. Together, we’ll work on restoring a sense of balance, clarity, and presence in your life, because you deserve to feel more grounded, empowered, and like yourself again. We’ll start with a thoughtful assessment to understand what’s going on beneath the surface, and then dive into the areas that matter most to you. You’ll gain insight into how past experiences and thinking habits may be impacting your present, and learn how to shift out of stuck places. We'll also explore your values, strengths, and passions so you can start moving in a direction that actually feels good. I bring over 25 years of experience as a therapist, and just as importantly, a down-to-earth, compassionate approach. You’ll be met with warmth, humour when it helps, and zero judgment. I know that therapy can feel vulnerable, so building a strong, genuine connection is always my top priority. It would be a true honour and privilege to work with you. I bring humour, depth, years of experience, authenticity and heart to the therapy room..and I welcome all the parts of you. Guiding growth with curiosity, compassion, real talk & a sprinkle of science. Curious if we’d be a good fit? I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so we can chat and see if the vibe feels right. And if you're looking to dive in deeper, feel free to ask me about my Therapy Intensives, an accelerated option for those ready to make meaningful shifts, fast.

Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Behavioral Therapy Uses learning techniques like reinforcement and practice to change unwanted behaviors. It is often applied to phobias, anxiety, and habits.
  • Brainspotting A therapy that uses eye positions to access and process unresolved trauma. It helps release emotional and physical pain held in the body.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Schema Therapy Identifies deep-rooted negative patterns formed in childhood. It combines CBT, attachment theory, and experiential methods for change.
Approach Description: I am a Therapist, Space Holder and Truth Teller. I help smart, soulful humans untangle inner chaos with science, spirit and sometimes swears. Whether you're looking for relief from anxiety, wanting to feel more confident in your day-to-day life, or ready to do some deeper emotional healing, I’m here to support you. Above all else, I believe that a strong, genuine therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. You’ll be met with warmth, respect, and compassion...no judgment, just real connection. Some of my clients come to therapy to shift unhelpful coping patterns. Others are working through painful past experiences that still affect them today. And many are somewhere in between—exploring new perspectives, building healthier habits, and reconnecting with their inner strength. My approach is integrative and compassionate, blending evidence-based modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and ACT, among others. We see what your system prefers. I work from the belief that you're not broken and you've always been enough. Let's help you remember that. Feel free to also inquire about my Therapy Intensives—an accelerated format of therapy compared to weekly sessions. Intensives can be a powerful way to dive deeper and experience meaningful shifts in a shorter period of time. Therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and rediscover the clarity and confidence that’s already within you. If you’re ready to take that first step, I’m here and happy to walk beside you.

Angie Kingma (Mindfulness for Health) Practice Description
Most of us at some point in our life realize that our old coping strategies just aren't working as well as they used to. We're very familiar with our habitual, autopilot way of living but we're just not sure how to get out of our ruts and obtain different results. Psychotherapy will provide you with the ability to 'wake up' from your usual 'automatic pilot' ways of living. In a supportive therapeutic relationship, you'll be guided through the process of reflecting on how your past experiences have shaped your belief systems and how your past conditioning might be inadvertently be keeping you stuck. When we can learn how to step out of 'auto pilot' we gain more choice, more freedom and often a huge sense of relief/calm. Essentially, it enables us to make more informed decisions about our lives rather than reacting to old familiar, knee-jerk (often unhelpful) reactions. Taking a trauma-informed and attachment-based lens, I individualize all treatment plans to target the mechanisms that are keeping you stuck in suffering and unhelpful habits. I use an eclectic blend of approaches depending on your personality, temperament, past experiences and current challenges. We can start by exploring your past or your present situation as eventually, through the talk therapy process, we will pinpoint the maladaptive patterns and come to understand them from a much more compassionate stance. When we can bring the light of awareness and compassion to our wounds from the past, healing can happen in the present moment! Everything we cover will support your ability to build insight, clarity and self-awareness so that you can feel a state of empowerment to cope in more effective ways.
