Bryan Leach (He/Him)

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
 therapist: Bryan Leach,
In-Person in Manhattan, NY 10001

I believe that therapy provides a unique opportunity to explore and understand yourself in a way that is empowering and transformative. It’s easy to get caught up in the same routines and patterns you’ve always known, including those that don’t work for you anymore. Creating a space to delve into those patterns, explore your feelings, and experiment with new ways of being with yourself and others can be a meaningful catalyst for change.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
  • Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
  • Self Psychology Explores the development of self-esteem and identity. It emphasizes the importance of empathy in healing.
Approach Description: My approach is rooted in evidence-based, psychodynamic principles, which focus on the impact of unresolved internal conflicts, relationships with others, and sense of self on how people understand and interact with the world around them. I also incorporate behavioral and relational elements into my practice, utilizing the therapeutic relationship as both a source of support and a vehicle for change. I have extensive post-graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and I continue to pursue additional opportunities to deepen my therapeutic knowledge and strengthen my clinical skills so that I may better support my clients.

Bryan Leach Practice Description
Many of my clients begin therapy because they feel stuck, often indicating that "doing everything right" has not made them as happy as they had hoped it would. I provide a judgment-free space for clients to explore these feelings and gain insight into their characteristic ways of operating, which in turn create a pathway to long-term change. I am a culturally aware provider who tailors treatment to the unique needs of each client. I have extensive experience working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds, including many who identify as being part of the LGBTQ+ community. I am also uniquely suited to support individuals working in both high-pressure corporate settings and the performing arts, as I have years of personal experience working in the fields of digital marketing, investment banking, and theatre.
