Licensed Professional Counselor, LMHC, LPC
 therapist: Carey Luker,
Online in Florida, Pennsylvania, South Carolina (Online Only)
What makes my therapy practice unique is the genuine care, compassion, and connection I bring to each client. I strive to create a space where people feel safe, comfortable, and truly heard without fear of judgment. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative, helping clients feel supported while working through anxiety, stress, life transitions, burnout, relationship challenges, and personal growth. I work with adults of all ages, including college students, young adults, and individuals navigating career changes or uncertain seasons of life. I tailor therapy to each person’s individual needs and goals using evidence-based, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming practices rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Above all, I want clients to feel understood, supported, and reminded that they do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is supportive, down-to-earth, and centered around helping you feel comfortable being yourself. I want therapy to feel like a safe place where you can talk openly, feel heard, and work through challenges without feeling judged or pressured. I use a mix of approaches like CBT, DBT, IFS, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Psychoeducation, and Somatic Therapy to help clients better understand themselves, manage stress and emotions, build healthier habits, and feel more grounded in everyday life. Some sessions may focus on practical coping skills and problem-solving, while others may involve exploring deeper emotional patterns, relationships, self-esteem, or life experiences that continue to impact you. I believe therapy should be personalized because everyone’s experiences and needs are different. My goal is to help you feel supported, understood, and more confident in navigating life while creating meaningful changes that actually feel realistic and lasting.
