My main focus is to help individuals navigate difficult seasons and transitions in their lives, such as adjusting to a recent loss or change in health status. My main areas of expertise are: grief and loss, chronic illness and autoimmune disease, and working with Highly Sensitive People and empaths.

Treatment Approach

  • Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
  • Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is based on psychoanalytic theory which allows for a deeper understanding of your past and how your past affects the present. In sessions as we talk together, we look for patterns and use your emotions and feelings as a guide. We use this insight to help you feel more regulated in your nervous system, make necessary changes in your life, and feel more able to deal with life's changes and demands.
