I practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) an evidenced -based psychotherapy considered to be the treatment of choice for anyone who struggles with anxiety, panic, and/or depression. It is a proven type of talk therapy that focuses on helping you change your behavior and thoughts to positively affect your mental health. It is not like the traditional form of psychotherapy, which tends to be fee flowing an can lead to endless talking with no action. CBT is focused, structured, goal oriented, and requires you to put forth effort, all in a supportive environment. This form of therapy uses therapy homework, teaching and practicing of skills, and measuring / monitoring of symptoms. Anxiety in particular is especially treatable with CBT. Social nervousness, panic attacks, general day-to-day worry, and even obsessive compulsive disorder all respond exceptionally well with this specialized form of therapy.
With couples I use the latest research based methods of conflict resolution, communication and trust building to help partners deepen their connection and resolve conflict in a way that allows them to stay connected rather than tearing them apart.
Many clients choose me specifically because of my expertise in CBT or Relationship Counseling and also because I am certified in Clinical Hypnosis and will incorporate hypnotic techniques into the therapy process. Incorporating Hypnosis along with Neuro-Lingistic Programming Techniques and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) (tapping) can even further enhance and expedite the results achieved from therapy.
