Life is filled with challenges. We all approach these challenges in characteristic ways that are shaped by the life we have lived up until that moment. We learn how to respond to challenges based on what has been helpful in the past. As we grow and move through life, these ways of coping can become less advantageous. Sometimes we get stuck in our responses to stress, and this can exacerbate negative feelings. I can help you learn to notice these patterns, the ways they have helped, and the ways in which they no longer serve you. Together, we will work to create more options for you to respond to the challenges of life.

I completed my doctorate at Widener University's Institute of Graduate Clinical Psychology. I also completed a dual degree, earning my masters in human sexuality at the same time. I have worked in a variety of settings, helping people to feel less depressed, anxious, and ashamed of themselves. I have significant experiences working with LGBTQ people, as well as individuals who have experienced trauma. I conducted a rigorous post-doctoral Fellowship at the William Alanson White Institute, where I completed advanced training in psychoanalytic therapy. This means I am skilled at working with you to not just improve symptoms (the "band-aid" approach) but to dive into your life in a way that promotes continued growth post-therapy and has been shown in research to promote longer periods of happiness, better health outcomes, and overall improvements in many areas of life including emotional regulation, relationship satisfaction, and a sense of contentedness.
