Clients work best with someone they trust and feel comfortable with. One of the most consistent pieces of feedback I get is how easy it is to talk with me and they appreciate that I'm "real". I believe that a pinch of empathy and a dash of compassion makes the perfect recipe to provide you an accurate reflection needed to do meaningful therapy work.

We all have challenges that we need to face or over come in our lifetimes. Sometimes we benefit from that neutral and nonjudgemental person. I use evidence-based, practical, Cognitive Behavioral interventions and teach useable skills that help my clients navigate life's stressors more confidently. When I'm working with couples and families we use the Gottman Method and learn a lot about communication patterns that decrease conflict. If you think your relationship might not make it, but want to give it one more hard look, Discernment Counseling might be helpful.
I have additional and specialized training to work with individuals on trauma and sleep issues. Specifically, I am trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE), both are evidence-based treatments for PTSD. I also have advanced training in treatment of insomnia and sleep concerns (CBT-I). I also have additional training to help parents with some of the sleep concern that face their kiddos.
In my practice I also see couples and families. When we do this work together I draw from the Gottman's extensive body of work. We will talk about the skills necessary to improve your relationships across where you live and lead. For couples on the brink of breaking up Discernment Counseling is a highly specialized intervention that helps couples take one more hard look at patterns and decide if they want to stay, leave, or work to change. The choice is always yours.
