Georgie Gee
Registered Psychotherapist, Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that effective therapy creates a safe space where young people can explore their inner world and understand the root causes of their distress. By helping adolescents make meaning of their experiences empowers them to develop a stronger sense of self enabling them to navigate future challenges with greater awareness and confidence.

Treatment Approach
- Multicultural Therapy Acknowledges the role of culture, race, and identity in mental health. It values diversity and adapts treatment to each person’s background.
- Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Helps parents strengthen their bond with their child while learning effective strategies to manage challenging behaviors. Through live coaching, parents practice positive communication, set clear boundaries, and build a more supportive, nurturing home environment.
- Psychoanalytic Therapy Based on Freud’s theories, it explores unconscious conflicts and past experiences. It seeks to bring hidden issues into awareness.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Psychosocial Therapy Looks at how social and environmental factors affect psychological health. It emphasizes relationships, community, and resilience.
Approach Description: Psychoanalytical trained, however I adapt my practice to the individual needs. I see people face to face and on Zoom. Following the initial consultation I will do an assessment for 3 sessions after which we can decide whether short term psychotherapy is suitable, or longer term work may be clinically appropriate. Each individual presents differently and I like to offer a tailored approach in order to meet the clients where they are, support and contain their anxieties and struggles and move forward with them to where they would like to be. I have worked in private school settings and understand the culture of privilege as well as working for local charities.

Although I trained psychoanalytically, I work in a flexible and adaptable way to help young people engage in the process of therapy so that they have a better understanding of the unconscious motivations behind their struggles. Following the initial free 20 mins consultation, I may advocate a block of 4 sessions assessment to give the young person an experience of the way that I work. From there we can make a plan. Sometimes the assessment can move things along. Alternatively, we may decide to proceed with a fixed number of sessions with regular reviews to track change and review the goals of therapy. Ultimately, I hope that the young person develops an ease in themselves whereby they are much kinder to themselves, allowing for development of better interpersonal skills with others and a better understanding of themselves.
