Treatment Approach
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) An evidence-based treatment for PTSD that teaches clients to reframe unhelpful thoughts about trauma. It helps reduce guilt, shame, and fear.
- Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
Approach Description: I approach therapy from an evidence-based, biopsychosocialcultural framework that is individualized to you. There is no cookie cutter therapy here. Underlying my work with all clients is compassion, patience, and the belief that you can change. I am an active participant in therapy (and I expect you to be the same!) - you will not find any silent head nodding here without input or feedback. My approach is the combination of skill building and processing for new understandings, both of which I find imperative for change.
In addition to the listed treatment approaches, I am also trained in Inferential CBT and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. I also frequently incorporate DBT into my work depending on the presenting problem.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Kentucky with PSYPACT authorization to practice in 40+ participating states virtually. I am classically trained as a health psychologist - chronic pain, chronic illness, insomnia, weight loss, tobacco cessation - but have expanded my practice over the years to include a variety of other issues. One of my primary specialties is executive functioning work in adults with ADHD, especially late diagnosed adults, and especially in women. I am passionate about working with women to help them reach their true potential, which often looks like helping them advocate for themselves, take care of themselves, and deconstruct the perfectionism and people-pleasing habits they have built but are no longer serving them. Along with ADHD and executive functioning issues, I have found that OCD is often part of the picture and frequently misdiagnosed as severe generalized anxiety. As such, I have sought out specific training in Inferential CBT (I-CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to ensure I can provide evidence-based treatments for this debilitating disorder.
I have extensive experienc working with veterans and their spouses through my work and training at the VA. I am also a military spouse myself, so I intimately understand the challenges that come with military life. I love working with servicemembers and the families that love them. My promise to you is that you will never have to explain to me what a PCS is, or how much red tape you've had to deal with in this line of work. I get it, not only from my training but from my lived experience. I'm here for you.
I also greatly enjoy working with fellow therapists. A significant portion of my caseload has evolved to include other therapists, and I love the unique challenges that come with working with a fellow clinician. Reach out to find out more about my approach with clients who are also providers themselves.
I also provide virtual adult ADHD evaluations. Research shows that lengthy cognitive and achievement testing is no longer necessary or recommended in assessing and diagnosing ADHD in adults; rather, the gold standard is now a thorough and nuanced clinical interview. As such, my process looks different than many other practices and has a different, more affordable price tag as well. Please contact me or visit my website for more information about how my neurodiversity-affirming process is different.
