I am radically accepting of the pain of divorce and breakups. I know that this is a grief that is all too often normalized and shrugged off because it is so common. It matters to me that men and women receive support in navigating through difficult emotions such as hurt, anger, loneliness, and confusion following a breakup, separation, or divorce. Why should anyone be left alone to face the challenges that you might be familiar with? These can include: feeling unsure about yourself, experiencing shame, battling loneliness, struggling to sleep, worrying deeply about finances, feeling apprehensive about reentering the dating scene, and grappling with guilt regarding shared children. Even when there's a clear understanding that change is necessary, it's normal to feel anxious and uncertain about what lies ahead. It's okay to feel a mixture of grief and hope when contemplating life after divorce. I have the experience, knowledge and compassion to guide you through this chapter to help you re-write your story.

Kathryn Chacra Practice Description
As a clinical social worker, my focus is on providing practical and solution-focused short-term psychotherapy services. I believe in collaboration, working closely with my clients to help them achieve the changes they desire. With over 20 years of experience in social work, including 15 years as a clinician in various outpatient settings, I have now reopened my private practice with a renewed passion. My dedication lies in assisting fellow Texans in healing from attachment issues, providing relationship counseling, guiding individuals through grief and loss, supporting goal setting, and helping children cope with anxiety, depression, or adjustment disorders. My practice encompasses working with couples, adult individuals, and adolescents. Drawing from my own experiences as both a beneficiary and participant, I advocate for collaborative divorce. In today's fast-paced world, self-care often takes a back seat amidst the demands of careers, relationships, and other stressors. I help clients navigate these challenges, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, and other difficulties that may arise. I assist clients in understanding how various aspects of their lives impact their emotional well-being. Together, we work on: - Enhancing self-awareness - Setting and achieving personal or professional goals - Managing and expressing emotions effectively - Exploring the influence of past experiences on present behavior I tailor therapy to each client's individual needs, utilizing a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance/Commitment Therapy. By employing these modalities, my clients can begin their journey toward healing and growth. The duration of therapy varies for each client, as I believe in a personalized approach to achieve optimal outcomes. I want my clients to feel better in a way that aligns with their vision for themselves. I understand that grief work takes time and there's no rush, and I also recognize the importance of allowing enough time for the rebuilding process when setting goals. We can acknowledge that there will be seasons of processing and seasons of creating as clients regain control after experiencing a breakup of such magnitude.
