Treatment Approach

  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Helps people accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them, while committing to actions that reflect their values. It blends mindfulness with practical behavior strategies.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
Approach Description: My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change begins with understanding yourself rather than judging yourself. I draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), parts work, and self-compassion to help you notice patterns, make room for difficult feelings, and respond to yourself with more care. In our sessions, we may get curious about the different parts of you—for example, a part that wants to take a risk and another that urges you to stay safe. Rather than trying to silence either one, we’ll explore what each is trying to protect. We’ll also identify what matters most to you and find practical ways to move toward it, even when anxiety or self-doubt shows up. There’s no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what to say or do. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, combining reflection with tools you can use in everyday life.

Kelly O'Connor Practice Description
My practice offers individual therapy for women who are navigating anxiety, ADHD, self-doubt, insecurity, and life’s transitions. Whether you’re struggling with social anxiety, finding it hard to set boundaries, or feeling stuck in familiar patterns, our work begins with understanding what’s happening in your life and what you’d like to change. Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your needs. We’ll look at the experiences and beliefs that may be shaping how you feel, while also developing practical ways to manage challenges in the present. My aim is to provide a welcoming space where you can speak openly, build on your strengths, and make changes that feel meaningful to you.
