Treatment Approach

  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) A trauma-focused therapy that uses eye movements and imagery to help the brain reframe distressing memories. It often leads to quicker relief from symptoms compared to traditional talk therapy.
  • Adlerian Therapy Focuses on understanding a person’s sense of belonging and purpose. It helps people overcome feelings of inferiority and create healthier relationships.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Feminist Therapy Addresses how gender roles, power, and social inequality affect mental health. It empowers clients to challenge limiting beliefs and systems.
  • Gestalt Therapy Encourages awareness of thoughts, feelings, and actions in the present moment. It helps people integrate different parts of themselves for wholeness.
  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy Based on decades of research, this method gives couples tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and strengthen intimacy.
  • Imago Relationship Therapy Helps couples understand how childhood experiences influence adult relationships. It teaches communication techniques to deepen connection.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Relational Psychotherapy Emphasizes the healing power of the therapist-client relationship. It uses trust and safety as a foundation for change.
Approach Description: I believe that our struggles make sense when we consider the stories we have lived, the relationships we have experienced and the systems we have had to navigate. My work is influenced by Adlerian, Feminist and Narrative therapies, which recognize that we are shaped by our families, communities, cultures, identities, and experiences not just by our symptoms or diagnoses. I am particularly interested in helping clients explore the stories they have come to hold about themselves and whether those stories still serve them. Together, we can make space for curiosity, challenge messages rooted in shame or self-blame and reconnect with strengths, values and possibilities that may have been overshadowed by difficult experiences. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship. You are the expert on your life. My role is not to tell you who you are or what you should do, but to help you better understand yourself, identify patterns and create greater choice in how you move through the world. I believe people have an incredible capacity for growth, healing, and change when they feel safe, understood, and empowered. Ultimately, my goal is to support clients in developing a stronger sense of agency, autonomy, and self-trust so they can write the next chapters of their lives in ways that feel authentic, meaningful, and aligned with who they want to be.
