Off the Beaten Path Psychology and Wellness
Psychologist, Registered Psychologist
At Off the Beaten Path, we know that individual struggles don't exist in a vacuum. They're connected to the whole family system. That's why we work differently, where you might come to us for support with burnout or people-pleasing, while your teenager sees one of our therapists for identity questions or wellness. We coordinate, listen, and we often step outside of traditional office into nature because that's where some of the best conversations can happen, including the breakthroughs that happen while in movement. Using evidence-based approaches like EMDR and attachment-focused work, we help families actually understand each other. If you're looking for therapy that feels real, genuine, and gets real results, please connect.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
Approach Description: We combine evidence-based modalities, like EMDR and attachment-focused therapy, with a belief that healing happens best when we're genuine, curious, and sometimes literally moving. We work with individuals, couples, and families, often coordinating care across the system so everyone gets what they need without siloing the work. We specialize in helping high-achievers, burned-out professionals, and families navigate identity, relational patterns, and trauma. We meet clients where they are, in our office or on a walk through the community, because sometimes the insight you're looking for only surfaces when you're not sitting across from someone in a chair. Our foundation is trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and rooted in what actually works, not what sounds good.
