I believe therapy works best when you can show up as your whole self without worrying about being judged, misunderstood, or expected to fit someone else's idea of who you should be. My style is warm, collaborative, and conversational, with space for both honest reflection and practical change. I don't believe my role is to tell you who you should become. Instead, we'll work together to understand what is happening in your life, explore the experiences and patterns that have shaped you, and determine what meaningful change looks like for you.

Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: My approach to therapy is integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic methods based on each client's needs rather than expecting every person to respond to the same approach. My work is grounded in person-centered therapy and often incorporates cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques. Together, we may explore how past experiences and relationship patterns influence the present while also developing practical strategies for the challenges you are facing today. I approach therapy collaboratively, with respect for your autonomy, identities, experiences, and goals.

Amanda Ezell Practice Description
Prism Counseling Services provides psychotherapy for adults seeking support with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, identity exploration, relationship concerns, and other challenges affecting emotional well-being and daily life. Services are available through secure telehealth throughout Alabama, Florida, and Georgia, with in-person appointments available in Daleville, Alabama. My practice is intentionally affirming and inclusive. I have particular experience working with LGBTQIA+ adults, members of the kink and BDSM communities, and individuals practicing or exploring consensual non-monogamy and polyamory. Clients are welcome to discuss their identities, sexuality, relationship structures, and experiences openly without those aspects of their lives automatically being viewed as symptoms or problems that need to be corrected. I also work with veterans and military-connected adults and recognize the unique ways military culture, service experiences, transitions, and relationships can intersect with mental health. Treatment is individualized rather than based on a one-size-fits-all model. Depending on your needs, our work may focus on understanding longstanding patterns, processing difficult experiences, developing practical coping strategies, strengthening communication and boundaries, improving emotional regulation, or building greater confidence and self-understanding. Online therapy is provided through Headway, offering clients a secure and convenient way to attend sessions from a private location. Insurance options are also available through Headway for eligible clients and plans.
