At Somatic Spiritual Counseling, we offer mindfulness- and body-based therapy for people who want to understand themselves more deeply and feel more at home in their lives. Our practitioners bring different specialties to the work, including somatic trauma therapy, couples counseling, support for depression and anxiety, transpersonal psychology, LGBTQ+ concerns, spirituality, and spiritual emergence. Rather than focusing only on the stories you tell about what has happened, we at Somatic Spiritual Counseling also pay attention to what your body and nervous system are communicating. Through somatic healing, mindfulness, and compassionate exploration of unconscious patterns and beliefs, we help you work with what may be difficult to reach through talk therapy alone. Our approach to somatic spiritual counseling is grounded, individualized, and designed to support meaningful, lasting change.

Treatment Approach

  • Contemplative Psychotherapy Combines mindfulness and meditation practices with modern psychology. It encourages awareness and compassion as part of the healing process.
  • Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
  • Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
  • Integrative Therapy Combines techniques from multiple approaches into a customized plan. It adapts to each client’s unique situation and needs.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
  • Somatic Therapy Helps clients notice how emotions are stored in the body. It uses breath, movement, and awareness for healing trauma and stress.
  • Transpersonal Therapy Integrates spirituality and higher states of consciousness with psychology. It encourages growth beyond the individual self.
Approach Description: At Somatic Spiritual Counseling, our approach brings together the mind, body, nervous system, and, when meaningful to you, spirituality. We draw from somatic counseling, Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, attachment work, parts work/IFS, and transpersonal psychology. Rather than relying on talk therapy alone, we may work with physical sensations, emotions, thoughts, breath, movement, and nervous system responses. Our goal is to support greater awareness, regulation, connection, and self-trust at a pace that feels manageable. For clients exploring trauma, relationships, or spiritual emergence, we tailor the work to your needs and the practitioner you work with.

Somatic Spiritual Counseling Practice Description
We know that reaching out for therapy can feel like a big step. Our goal is to make the process welcoming, thoughtful, and personal from the beginning. Somatic Spiritual Counseling brings together experienced, nonjudgmental practitioners with backgrounds in somatic counseling, trauma work, relationship counseling, couples therapy, transpersonal psychology, and support for depression and anxiety. We also work with people navigating spiritual emergence and other experiences that may not fit neatly into traditional approaches to mental health. Because every person comes to therapy with different needs, we offer a free consultation to learn more about what you're looking for and connect you with the somatic practitioner or therapist who may be the best fit. Whether you're looking for therapy for healing, support with your relationships, or a deeper understanding of yourself, we're here to help you find a path forward that feels right for you.
