We started Tacoma Wellness Collective because we believe therapy works best when it feels human.
Too often, mental health care can feel transactional — a symptom list, a diagnosis, a treatment plan. That's not what we do here. At TWC, we show up as real people who have done our own work, who understand that healing isn't linear, and who genuinely care about the people sitting across from us.
Our therapists are clinically trained and experienced — but what sets us apart is the culture we've built around care. We take the therapeutic relationship seriously. We believe that feeling safe with your therapist isn't a luxury — it's the foundation everything else is built on.
We work with adults navigating some of life's most difficult terrain: relationship stress, burnout, life transitions, grief, identity, and the patterns that keep showing up no matter how hard you try to outrun them. We don't promise quick fixes. We offer something steadier — a space where the real work can happen, at a pace that respects your nervous system.
TWC is rooted in Tacoma. This community matters to us. Whether you're sitting with us in person or connecting virtually from across Washington State, you'll feel that.
We accept insurance because access matters. And we're here when you're ready.

Treatment Approach
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
- Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) Combines mindfulness practices with CBT to prevent depression relapse. It helps people notice thoughts without judgment and respond more calmly.
- Motivational Interviewing (MI) A collaborative, client-centered approach that strengthens motivation for change. It is especially effective for addictions and health behaviors.
- Narrative Therapy Encourages people to view problems as separate from themselves and reframe their life story. It helps build resilience and self-identity.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
Fees & Insurance
Fees
- Average Session Fee $150
- Affordable sliding scale therapy: apply if you may be eligible.
- Quality mental health care should be accessible. We believe that — and we try to put it into practice. A limited number of reduced fee spots are available across our practice for adults who are experiencing financial hardship. These spots are offered on a case-by-case basis and are held by therapists across the TWC team. If cost has been a barrier to starting therapy, we'd encourage you to reach out. No lengthy process, no judgment — just a conversation about what's possible. Email us to ask about current availability. We'd rather find a way to make it work than have cost be the reason you don't get support.

Tacoma Wellness Collective is a group psychotherapy practice based in Tacoma, WA, founded and led by Mary Allison Jensen, LICSW. We provide individual therapy to adults in person in Tacoma and virtually throughout Washington State.
Our team is made up of licensed therapists who bring both clinical expertise and genuine human warmth to their work. We take an evidence-informed approach — drawing on modalities that are proven to be effective — while tailoring care to the individual in front of us. No two people are the same, and we don't treat them that way.
What We Work With
We support adults navigating a wide range of life experiences, including:
Stress, burnout, and overwhelm
Anxiety and depression
Relationship and family patterns
Life transitions and identity shifts
Grief and loss
Self-worth and boundary-setting
Generational and family-of-origin patterns
Our Approach
We believe that insight without support doesn't go very far. Our therapists work collaboratively with clients to understand not just what is happening, but why — and what's possible from here. We pay attention to the patterns beneath the surface, the beliefs that drive behavior, and the nervous system responses that often go unexamined.
Therapy at TWC is a structured, relational process. We hold space for the full complexity of human experience — without judgment, without rushing, and without pretending healing is simpler than it is.
Accessibility
We accept insurance and are committed to reducing barriers to mental health care for the Tacoma community and beyond. Telehealth services extend our reach to adults throughout Washington State.
