I invite you to join with me in your journey of creating meaningful change in your life. We all face difficult life challenges at some point, and receiving compassion and support can make all the difference. Whether you or a family member have encountered a recent challenge that has led you "off course" or if you have experienced a lifetime of pain, we can work together to develop healthier patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors and interactions to increase inner peace. I will support you in reaching your own definition of success. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have had the honor of working in the mental health community since 1998. I have been in private practice since 2004. I enjoy living in the beautiful Colorado mountains and love nature, as it provides a sense of peace and calm for me. I am the mother of three adult sons, married for 23 years and have been a resident of Colorado for 30 years. I enjoy hiking, traveling and spending time with my family. Treatment Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
  • Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) Builds skills in self-kindness and compassion toward others. It is especially helpful for people who struggle with shame or self-criticism.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Combines CBT with mindfulness to help regulate emotions, tolerate stress, and build stronger relationships. Originally designed for borderline personality disorder, it’s now used more broadly.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) A structured therapy that uses guided eye movements to help process traumatic memories. It is widely recognized for treating PTSD and trauma-related conditions.
  • Family Systems Therapy Looks at problems within the context of the family as a whole. It aims to improve communication and balance in family relationships.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
  • Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Combines low doses of ketamine with psychotherapy to treat depression, trauma, and anxiety. It can provide relief when other methods haven’t worked.
  • Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
Approach Description: We all have emotional issues that affect us from time to time. Most of the people that meet with me do not have serious mental health issues but need assistance in navigating current life stressors and challenges. I honor and work with you as a unique individual, not a diagnosis.

Jamie Andersen, M.A., LMFT Practice Description
I offer a warm and encouraging, down-to-earth approach to therapy. Therapeutic interventions are rooted in respect, acceptance and validation to facilitate successful navigation of challenging life circumstances. I am a lifelong learner and participate in a regular consultation group to improve my therapy skills. I regularly attend conferences and trainings to gain knowledge in traditional and nontraditional therapy techniques. I am open minded and believe that people grow and heal in many different ways. I have been trained in various models of treatment and adapt interventions to client needs and preferences. In addition to traditional "talk therapy", I also offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and Brain Spotting. Other models of therapy that I utilize include DBT (Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) and Comprehensive Resource Model. Many of my clients are high functioning individuals interested in gaining skills, strategies and a positive mindset to impact their life. I also enjoy working with helping professionals who want to do their own work. Education and Credentials: I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Florida State University, and a Master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in marriage, family, and child counseling from Chapman University.
