The are of Grief and Loss is indeed a challenging field of counselling. I have over the many years of working with clients who have suffered a loss, and who are experiencing varying types of grief, been able to move them through the stages of grief and loss to a more stable state of coping and adjustment. Please don't hesitate in calling me about your loss, as it is important to reach out to a professional, such as myself, with many years experience in the field, and who has achieved positive results for the clients who have worked with me. The common understanding of grief and loss is as the emotional pain that follows a death of someone close. Grief and loss however may also occur in many other situations. For example, in relation to the loss of friendship, relationship, culture, health, function, employment, status, lifestyle, self-identity and so forth. H-L Therapy staff work with many grief and loss related presentations. We listen, understand and work in partnership with the clients to re-establish new meaning, identity, roles, and lifestyles following the loss. We use Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and mindfulness techniques to assist in transitioning from the stage of grief towards an improved emotional wellbeing.

Our society does not know how to process grief and loss. It is unquantifiable and deeply unique to each individual. Having spent the last two decades on my own existential journey, I feel very equipped to hold space for you and yours. If you choose to sit with me, I will create a warm, open and non-judgmental space where you can feel free to explore whatever is on your mind to locate some sense of ease and clarity. There is no single way to process loss. Together we will sit and be and when the time is right, find a the path that is aligned for you to know and understand your pain and regain movement that nourishes and honours you/your process.

The effects of grief and loss can be diverse. It can affect us in various ways. We can experience it as a result of a separation or death, or it can be triggered by something as simple as a past experience. Let me support you in your journey to work through the grieving process to, at least, ease the pain and trauma you’ve been subjected to.
