Professional burnout, post-traumatic stress, interpersonal conflict - these are different examples of stressful experiences that can be of chronic and incredibly taxing nature. Some people lack a robust capacity to know their own limits and set boundaries; others find themselves in the midst of stressful life events (e.g. sudden illness of self or a loved one; loss of income and basic security; being subjected to discrimination, or any other form of maltreatment), and it becomes really hard to adapt and cope emotionally. I offer a confidential space where we can think together about what has and is happening to you, how you experience it and what hinders you managing stress more sustainable way.

How do you deal with stress? We feel stress whenever we have the feeling of losing control. When we think we cannot cope with the amount of work, when something unforeseeable thwarts our plans or when the demands placed on us are too high etc. - then stress always arises. Created by fear of possible catastrophes, of failure or of not being able to do something, stress drives our adrenaline levels up. This costs the body an enormous amount of energy and in the long run can even make us seriously ill. A study by Harvard University has now found that employees with personnel responsibility are on average less stressed. The control you gain through more responsibility apparently outweighs the stress. This means that the more we relinquish control and feel out of control, the more we feel stressed. 12 ways to happiness 1. physical exercise - 2. do smile so offenas possible! - 3. sleep well! - 4. eat well - 5. live now! - 6. practice serenity - 7. blow up your blockades – 8. celebrate your successes - 9. concentrate - 10. be fully engaged – 11. start something new - 12. maintain your social network

Stress psychotherapy is a form of therapy that helps people cope with stress and its consequences. Stress is a natural response to challenging or threatening situations, but it can become overwhelming and harmful when it is too intense, frequent, or prolonged. Stress can have various causes, such as physiological (fatigue, insomnia, burnout, depression), situational (work, family, financial, health problems), or psychological (dissatisfaction with relationships, work, self-esteem, personality disorders, trauma, etc.). Stress psychotherapy can help people identify and address the sources of their stress, as well as develop effective coping skills and strategies. Stress psychotherapy can involve different approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), prolonged exposure (PE), schema therapy, or others. CBT is a standard and structured approach that helps people change their negative thoughts and behaviors that contribute to their stress. It also helps them learn relaxation techniques and problem-solving skills. PE is a form of CBT that helps people overcome post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is a condition that occurs after experiencing a traumatic event. PE involves gradually confronting the traumatic memories and situations that cause fear and distress. Schema therapy is a form of integrative therapy that helps people modify their maladaptive schemas, which are deep-rooted beliefs and patterns that affect their emotions and behaviors. Schema therapy helps people meet their emotional needs and develop healthy coping skills. During the first sessions with the therapist, you can clarify the possible causes underlying your current condition. And discuss the plan for further work with these topics.
