When I work with clients to improve their body image, I don’t spend very much time talking about food. Instead, sessions often focus on a sense of control, how to feel hard feelings, perfectionism and “good-enoughness”, self-compassion, how to self-soothe in hard moments, and allowing yourself to be a messy, human person.
