Fort Worth, Texas therapist: James Parker, psychologist
Social Constructionist

James Parker

Psychologist, PhD
I view therapy as a collaborative interaction in service of understanding the best forms of quality human relating. My approach to therapy is primarily guided by Coherence Therapy. Coherence Therapy is an approach to treatment that is different from many others in that - instead of focusing on what is "negative" or "wrong" and trying to change or alter it - the purpose is to genuinely understand a person's symptoms; to curiously explore why maintaining certain patterns of thinking and behavior is emotionally necessary, even when a person is feeling stuck because of those patterns. Understanding the symptom leads to identifying the underlying emotional reasons of why we do things and addresses the cause of feeling stuck, not just the symptom, which leads to meaningful and lasting changes.

Frisco, Texas therapist: Sarah Sustaita, counselor/therapist
Social Constructionist

Sarah Sustaita

Counselor/Therapist, MS, LPC Associate, LPCC
I became a therapist after experiencing how hard it can be to get help when your pain or your account of what happened doesn’t fit someone else’s explanation. Being dismissed can leave a mark of its own. It can make you wonder whether you’ll have to spend the next appointment convincing someone to believe you. At Inner Archive Therapy, you don’t have to arrive with a perfectly organized story. I’ll meet you with curiosity and make room for the parts of your life that feel complicated or contradictory.

San Diego, California therapist: Micaela Magazzu-Alaman, marriage and family therapist
Social Constructionist

Micaela Magazzu-Alaman

Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
I believe therapy works best when you can show up as a whole person, not a diagnosis or collection of symptoms. My style is warm, curious, collaborative, and down to earth. I value humor, honesty, compassion, and creating a space where you do not have to perform, have everything figured out, or leave important parts of yourself outside the therapy room. I am especially drawn to working with people who think and feel deeply, experience anxiety or overwhelm, or are searching for a more sustainable way of moving through life. I want to understand what you are struggling with, but also who you are, what matters to you, what has shaped you, and what your mind and body may be communicating about what you need. There is room in therapy for the personal and the political, for grief and anger, for relationships and identity, and for conversations about work, community, nature, oppressive systems, social conditions, and the world around us. My hope is to help you build a deeper relationship with yourself and create a life that feels more connected, intentional, and genuinely yours.

My commitment to health and an active lifestyle is evident in my lifelong engagement with endurance sports, including marathon running, cycling, ironman triathlons, and hiking. These activities not only challenge me physically but also provide a strong sense of accomplishment and joy.
