Conventional treatment for bipolar (all types) is drug therapy. Many such patients go off of their medication for various reasons. My approach is to identify and resolve the core emotional issues that have led to development of the disorder presenting the possibility of recovery without drugs. Internal family therapy treatment is particularly helpful in this area.
