First, know that I am licensed in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina and see patients virtually in each state and accept most insurance. My starting point with patients is that virtually all mental health issues result from habits of thought, feelings, or behavior that were adaptive when they were formed but become maladaptive later in life. I begin my work by asking, "What happened to you?" rather than "What's wrong with you?" I try to point the way to personal growth allowing for more flexability in your responses to the things that happen in your life. I am happy to listen to you. To hear you. But, while its important to be seen and heard, its equally important to continue working for change in your life.

Treatment Approach
- Biopsychosocial Therapy Takes into account biological, psychological, and social factors in understanding mental health. It looks at the whole person, not just symptoms.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) One of the most widely used approaches, CBT helps people identify unhelpful thoughts and replace them with healthier patterns. It is effective for anxiety, depression, and many other concerns.
- Eclectic Therapy Draws from different therapeutic methods based on what fits each client best. It is flexible and personalized rather than following one single model.
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Focuses on strengthening emotional bonds in couples or families. It helps people identify negative cycles and create more secure connections.
- Existential / Humanistic Therapy Encourages people to explore meaning, freedom, and authenticity in their lives. It focuses on personal growth and living in alignment with one’s values.
- Experiential Therapy Involves hands-on activities to bring emotions into the present moment. It helps clients process feelings more deeply than through conversation alone.
- Internal Family Systems (IFS) Helps clients heal by working with different ‘parts’ of themselves, like inner critics or wounded children. It fosters harmony within the self.
- Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) A short-term approach focused on improving relationships and social support. It is often used for depression and grief.
- Music Therapy Uses music listening, songwriting, or rhythm exercises to support healing. It is effective for stress, emotional expression, and cognitive challenges.
- Object Relations Therapy Focuses on how early caregiver relationships shape current relationships. It aims to improve patterns of attachment and trust.
- Person-Centered Therapy (Rogerian) Emphasizes empathy, unconditional positive regard, and authenticity. It provides a safe space for self-discovery and growth.
- Psychodynamic Therapy Explores unconscious thoughts and patterns that influence current behavior. It builds insight into how the past impacts the present.
- Psychoeducational Therapy Provides education and coping tools about mental health conditions. It empowers clients with knowledge and practical skills.
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than past problems. It is practical, short-term, and goal-driven.
- Transactional Analysis Explores interactions through the lens of Parent, Adult, and Child roles. It aims to improve communication and self-awareness.

I am licensed in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina and see patients virtually in each state and accept most insurance. In choosing to work in therapy together you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. My goal is to help you to lead a life that is worth celebrating by uncovering your authentic self and true potential . We can't change difficult situations from the past. But, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life today and for tomorrow. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Besides individual therapy I often refer patients to self-help groups. This is particularly true for recovery from over-eating, alcohol and drug abuse, and troubling behaviors patterns like gambling, internet porn, and sex abuse. My patients find men's and women's support groups helpful for many of life's issues. And self-help groups are the most economical treatment approach. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. Please call or email me for a consultation today.
