Jessica Torres-Garcia
Counselor/Therapist, MA, LPCC, NCC, CCTP
With extensive experience and training in both Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I specialize in assisting clients facing various types of trauma. This area is one of my passions, and I am deeply committed to guiding individuals through their healing journey. In addition to evidence-based therapies, I frequently incorporate grounding techniques to help clients manage distressing symptoms and reconnect with the present moment. My approach is rooted in compassion, empowerment, and resilience, as I support clients in reclaiming their sense of safety and well-being.

Dr. Desiree S. Howell
Psychologist, Ph.D.
Using EMDR, IFS-informed, and somatic (body-based) strategies, we will collaboratively explore what you need and want to feel safe to continue on your healing journey. Your body is wise and many habits were likely effective coping strategies in the past but are now no longer serving you. We will work together to help your body recalibrate its sense of safety and enjoy a regulated nervous system.

Kelly Baez
Licensed Professional Counselor, PhD, LPC
Like trying to digest a big meal, when things happen that are too much to emotionally/mentally "digest" they can lead to nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety, and more. When this happens, I recommend clients try EMDR. While evidence-based practices like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), are helpful, it can take months or even years to recover. Not so with EMDR! Whether your trauma is decades in the making or it happened yesterday...isn't it time to start feeling better?

Monica Buttafava
Counselor/Therapist, M.S., LMHC
Children and adolescents exposed to traumatic events such as abuse, violence, natural disasters, accidents, injury, or harm can develop health problems called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as PTSD.
PTSD can happen in the first weeks after the event or even years later.
Traumatic experiences can be re-experienced as PTSD symptoms in the form of “flashback” memories, nightmares, scary thoughts, panic attacks, physical distress, and pain.
Individuals may also manifest problems falling or staying asleep, angry or cranky feelings, problems paying attention or focusing, be easily startled, and always being on high alert.
Psychotherapy can help provide a safe place to share feelings, play out fears and worries, and address shame and guilty feelings related to the fact that children, unfortunately, tend to blame themselves for the traumatic events they have been victims of.
