Self esteem issues are very common and something that can be addressed in therapy. Sometimes childhood trauma may be a root of a lot of core beliefs that diminish our self esteem. Through EMDR therapy, you can experience long term relief and it can change negative beliefs about yourself to positive ones that are true to you while also reprocessing past experiences that may have been the start to it all. While there is nothing wrong with receiving validation from others, relying too heavily on others’ perceptions prevents you from being able to generate your own confidence.
