I am experienced working with young adults struggling with body image issues such as body dysmorphia, Bulimia, Anorexia Nervosa, and being overweight. Social media can be great in many ways, however, young people today are increasingly feeling that they always have to look “camera ready!” People are judged on their instagram photos and how many “likes” they get, and this can make body image take center stage and ;therefore, cause low self-esteem.

Body image distress is very painful, but I believe those negative beliefs about your body are just thoughts you've been practicing. You can unlearn them and nurture new beliefs. I also believe that obsessing about body image -- or anything, for that matter -- is a coping mechanism for some deeper distress. I intuitively look for those deeper causes. I then use energy psychology methods to resolve the underlying experiences and/or emotional conflicts that created the need for obsessing, thereby relieving it. I also teach deep self-compassion as a practice to grow self-acceptance.
