MN Couples & Family Therapy

Psychologist, Ph.D., L.P.
My specialty is in marriage and family therapy. I have been fortunate to be trained by some of the best professors and trainers in the field. I am trained in the Gottman Method including being a Bringing Baby Home educator, and 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work educator. Additionally, I have completed training in using Gottman Method in infidelity and PTSD. I have also completed certification training in Discernment Counseling through the Doherty Institute. I am trained in PREPARE/Enrich. I work with couples throughout the entire relationship spectrum from premarital counseling, to established couples needing assistance, to parenting challenges and including divorce/uncoupling therapy if necessary. I am not marriage neutral and prefer to help couples create mutually satisfying relationships wherever possible. I have additional training and expertise in working with ADHD couples, understanding the unique issues commonly found in relationships where one or both partners has ADHD.

Relationship and Marriage Counseling

Dr Todd Giardina

Psychologist, PhD, Counseling Psychology
Even when I treat individuals, so often we end up doing a form of relationship counseling, because we ARE our relationships. The people in our life affect us, and learning how to set boundaries and communicate differently is always a part of my treatment. Of course, this is easier when I get to work with both members of a couple (or family), in that I can then "hear both sides of the story." I am able to "speak" both male and female languages, so I find I can aid in translating and getting everyone to feel heard. (As a male therapist, this defuses some of the hesitation many male partners have about approaching therapy).

I work with couples who want real change, not quick fixes that drop off after a few weeks. You want enduring change that fills you with deep satisfaction and abundant joy. One of my superpowers is to understand each side and help you find unique solutions for complex problems. Whether you're navigating burnout, neurodiverse differences, or a long list of unresolved hurts, we’ll work together to create a relationship that fits who you are now and for your future.
