Mark Rovner
Life Coach, Trauma-informed; PCC (Professional Certified Coach); Mindful Self-Compassion trainer
ADHD is often accompanied by emotional dysregulation and shame. Using Somatic Experiencing and Mindful Self-compassion, we can address the feelings and the stories we tell ourselves that affect our daily performance and emotional well being. A regulated nervous system is a huge support for working with the executive functioning deficits that may accompany your ADHD.

Dr. Patricia Webbink
Psychologist, MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology
For many years, I have offered an ADHD program with specific techniques to use in assisting with attention, focus and concentration, and the lessening of distraction. I have administered tests for ADD and ADHD. I do screening with children, adolescents and adults. I also work with parents, schools and universities. I provide special programs for ADHD, as well as assistance with obtaining accommodations on standardized tests. The book, “Driven to Distraction” is a helpful resource for understanding this disorder. Parents of these children diagnosed with this condition are often running around trying to pick up the pieces! These children forget assignments, forget to bring their projects to school, and have trouble organizing and managing their lives. Their executive functioning is not as good as it should be.
Often gifted children appear to have ADD or ADHD because they are perceiving so many mental stimuli at once that they are not able to attend to details or they become distracted from the goal at hand.
I regularly offer free zoom workshops, which can provide a way to experience peace and calm, and organization. Please call for the latest schedule or for a consultation: 301-229-8000

Beth Janis
Psychologist, Ph.D.
I specialize in working with ADHD in therapy and in psychological testing. There can be many nuances with how ADHD shows up in your life - and fortunately, with time and continued research, we as a society are gaining better understanding of these differences and the impacts ADHD can have. Using a neuro-affirming lens, we work to understand and befriend your wiring to help deepen self-understanding and self-compassion, and to develop strategies to support areas of difficulty. And in the case of late-diagnosed adolescents and adults (or for parents navigating a new ADHD diagnosis for their kids), a lot of our work involves seeing yourself (or your child) in a new lens and reframing messages you may have gathered from others about yourself with this new knowledge.

Hannah L. Gold at Gold Therapy
Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW-C, LICSW
Living with ADHD can feel like a constant struggle to meet expectations—internally and externally. You might wrestle with focus, motivation, impulsivity, or follow-through, and it’s easy to get caught in cycles of frustration, shame, or self-doubt. My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps you move away from harsh self-criticism and toward greater self-understanding, flexibility, and purpose.
ACT offers a compassionate, evidence-based framework for navigating the unique challenges of ADHD. Instead of trying to “fix” you, we’ll work together to clarify your values, understand how your brain works, and build strategies that actually fit your life. We’ll explore what matters most to you and develop the tools you need to take meaningful action—even when focus is difficult or motivation is low.
I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space where all parts of you are welcome. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, reduce the power of self-defeating thoughts, and create a life that feels more aligned, manageable, and fulfilling.

Amanda Shrekenhamer
Licensed Professional Counselor, LCPC, LPC
I approach my work with individuals from a place of compassion and empathy, understanding that by the time someone comes to work with me, they may have experienced shame or embarrassment about some of their struggles. I offer coaching using a structured and supportive approach to help individuals with ADHD and/or executive functioning concerns. During our sessions, we work on time management strategies, daily life skills, and ways to set realistic goals and achieve them. I also believe that it is often important to process the challenges of being neurodivergent in unaffirming spaces (many of my clients with ADHD have been told they aren't living up to their potential, or that they are lazy etc.), so that self acceptance and resilience can be nurtured.
