Dr. Ann Becker-Schutte; Healthy Balanced Life Psychology, LLC
Psychologist, Ph.D.
Our physical and emotional health are intimately connected. When you are living a body that is unreliable or in pain, that can create relationship stress, depression and anxiety. Throughout my career, I have focused on the unique challenges faced by patients or caregivers who are coping with serious illness.

Jennifer Kehrle
Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
As someone who personally experiences chronic pain, I have a unique perspective on the impact of this issue on a person's life. I provide a warm, empathic space to help clients cope with whatever pain they are experiencing. I deeply listen to a client's struggles before making any interventions with them so as not to invalidate their individual experience with pain. I use a mix of compassion work, cognitive, and somatic interventions to help clients with their pain.

Dyani Saxby
Psychologist, Ph.D., ABPP, DBSM
There is a difference between living with chronic pain and suffering with it. Suffering includes depression, unresolved grief, anxiety, isolation, and withdrawal. Chronic pain can cause these feelings because we grieve what we used to be able to do and feel that pain robs us of living a full life. Sometimes we feel like we lose ourselves entirely. When we are in a depressed or anxious mood state for a long period of time, we actually end up experiencing worse pain (and often worse sleep), which results in a vicious cycle that can feel impossible to break. The good news is that I have helped hundreds of patients improve how they respond to their pain and also lower their overall pain levels. They began to accept what they cannot control and also learn how to have more control over their pain levels through techniques such as physical pacing, relaxation, and clinical hypnosis. With board certifications in clinical health psychology, behavioral sleep medicine, and extensive training in clinical hypnosis, I can teach you skills to break the cycle of chronic pain and suffering.

Dr. Elizabeth Coldren
Psychologist, PSYD, PSYPACT
I work with people whose lives have been shaped by their bodies in ways they did not choose. This may include serious or long‑term illness, chronic pain, complex diagnoses or diagnostic uncertainty, and the lingering impact of medical procedures and hospitalizations. For some, there is also medical trauma or other trauma woven in. For others, the ongoing symptoms themselves are what feel overwhelming.
Many of the adults, teens, and children I see look like they are managing from the outside. They keep up with school, work, or family responsibilities and often minimize what they are going through. Inside, there may be fear, grief, anger, exhaustion, or a sense of watching life move on without them.
I often work with people who are trying to navigate medical, school, or workplace systems that feel unsupportive, confusing, or exhausting, and to live a life that makes sense when very few people seem to understand what it is really like.
My work is not general support for illness. I focus on how pain, illness, and medical experiences live in the nervous system and shape mood, relationships, daily life, and sense of self. We make space for the very real impact of ongoing pain or fatigue, adjusting to new diagnoses or changes in functioning, repeated medical procedures or hospital stays, encounters with dismissive or disbelieving providers, and the losses and changes that come with a life that is different from what was expected. Together, we work with your body’s responses to what has happened, the stress of navigating care and systems, and the question of how to move forward in a way that feels possible for you. Supporting people whose lives have been shaped by illness and pain is central to my practice, and I have deep respect for how much you carry that others often cannot see.
