Career counseling is a broad field of psychological help that can assist you in various aspects of your work and career. We spend a large part of our life at work, and work and career are one of the meaningful values in our life.
For some people, career counseling may be related to defining their further path of development. This can be a young person choosing a university, or a mature person who is dissatisfied with where their life has come. Career counseling also includes working with the experience of what is happening at the moment in your work. These can be worrying and troubling problems in relationships with clients, colleagues, or managers. And problems of procrastination and motivation.
Also, there are some professions in which the professional path of becoming a specialist is a complex psychological task. Which sometimes requires emotional support and detailed planning. These are such professions as a solo artist or a private practicing psychologist and others.
In my practice, I first of all try to determine at the beginning of working with a client: is the current situation a specific, unique situation in the client's life, requiring work with cognitive distortions and behavior? Or do the problems affect the personality level, when there are connections between professional issues and such phenomena as personal identity and self-esteem.
Depending on the causes of problems in the career sphere, the approach to working with them also differs. It can be short-term therapy. But long-term therapy may also be required, involving work with personality. We discuss the format, topics and plan of work with you during our first meetings.
