Shannon Kossick

Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW
I believe vulnerability is essential in the therapeutic space, and I’d like to share a bit about myself to foster transparency and understanding as we work together. My background and experiences inform my perspectives and approach to therapy, and I want you to have a clear sense of who I am to share in a vulnerable space together. I am a cisgender, heterosexual, White woman of Irish and Prussian heritage who was brought up in a middle-class family in the suburbs. I am also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and former Certified Public Accountant, have lived in four countries on three continents, am married to a counselor, and have two beloved dogs, one of which weighs over 100 pounds. I grew up in the Catholic Church, but my personal spiritual practice now draws inspiration primarily from Buddhist traditions. I utilize IFS in my work with clients. Imagine your mind like a family. You have different “parts” with different jobs, like protectors or worriers. Internal Family Systems helps you understand these parts, connect with your calm, wise “Self,” and create inner harmony. It’s about healing, not fixing. I offer EMDR as an intervention. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a therapy that helps your brain process and heal from traumatic or distressing experiences. We use bilateral stimulation, like eye movements or tapping, while you focus on the memory. This helps your brain reprocess the memory, reducing its emotional charge and allowing you to feel more peaceful and resilient. I use ACT in my practice. Acceptance & Commitment Therapy helps you build a rich and meaningful life by focusing on what truly matters to you. Instead of fighting your thoughts and feelings, you learn to accept them and commit to taking action in line with your values. It’s about psychological flexibility: being present, choosing your direction, and taking action, even when it’s difficult. I incorporate MBIs into therapy. Mindfulness-based interventions teach you to pay attention to the present moment without judgment, using practices like meditation. These practices can help you become more aware of your thoughts and feelings, allowing you to manage stress, anxiety, and other challenges more effectively. By cultivating this awareness, you can improve emotional regulation and overall well-being.

Patrick Powers

Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFT
Hi, I’m Patrick. I'm originally from Oklahoma but have lived in Utah for over 15 years. I love my two dachshunds, sports, stand-up comedy, concerts, and spending time with my wife and two sons. I specialize in treating OCD using ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), but I also draw from CBT, EFT principles, positive psychology, and evolutionary psychology. I blend evidence-based strategies with a deep curiosity about what makes you you. I’m also not afraid to dig into the big existential questions and how they come up in life. My style is relaxed, collaborative, and straightforward. Clients tell me they feel safe, understood, and surprisingly comfortable being real with me—even when we’re talking about the hard stuff like intrusive thoughts, sexual shame, or life transitions that shake your sense of self. I believe therapy works best when it feels like an honest conversation between equals. I bring clinical expertise, a nonjudgmental attitude, and a solid sense of humor. You bring your experience, goals, and values. Together, we figure things out. If you’re looking for a therapist who’s both serious about helping and not too serious in general, I’d love to meet you.

Paul Losoff

Psychologist, PsyD
As a clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience, I bring a diverse array of therapeutic techniques to each session. Those who know me would say that my style is generally laid back, but I'm also willing to gently challenge my clients in a constructive way when it benefits them. I have a pragmatic approach toward helping you and I actively engage rather than remain silent during sessions.

I believe people have the inherent ability to connect to their best selves if given good tools, opportunities & have the motivation to do the work.
