Sometimes physical pain can be psychosomatic because there was an emotional trauma at the time of the injury. Or if we have had major stress in our life it can cause physical pain. Hypnotherapy for pain management can be extremely beneficial. With hypnosis we can minimize or eliminate physical discomfort.

Hypnotherapist, Certified Hypnotherapist, NLP Master Practitioner & Trainer, and Coach With 30+ Years of Experience
Living with Chronic Pain can affect so much more than just your body. It can wear down your energy, disrupt your sleep, limit the things you enjoy, and make it harder to feel like yourself.
While Hypnotherapy is not a replacement for appropriate medical care, it can be a powerful and integrative complement to it. Using Hypnotherapy, NLP and Coaching, I help clients change the way their mind and body respond to pain, reduce unnecessary tension and emotional distress, and begin creating a greater sense of comfort and control.
Most clients experience greater comfort even during our first session together. Just as importantly, I teach you practical techniques you can continue using on your own, because practicing those techniques is an important part of sustaining your progress and experiencing greater and greater comfort over time.
Because Chronic Pain can have important medical causes, please continue working with your physician or other qualified medical provider and make sure they feel Hypnotherapy is an appropriate complement to the care they provide.

Please note that I am not a doctor so I do not diagnose, prescribe or treat any medical conditions. I simply help you learn and experience pain relief techniques complementary to the medical care your doctor(s) continue to provide for you. Not "alternative" to their care, but complementary to it.

Alan Brandis, Ph.D.
Psychologist, Ph.D., Licensed Psychologist
Typically, Chronic Pain Syndrome patients come to see a psychologist after being seen by a number of other health professionals to no avail, including internal medicine physicians, orthopedists, surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physical therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, emergency room doctors (for late-night injections of powerful pain killing drugs) and others. Typically, a Chronic Pain evaluation consists of several approaches to discovering which factors play the largest role in maintaining the pain. We ask patients to keep a Pain Diary for a week or two, which helps us pinpoint which activities or emotional states are related to an increase in pain level. This also helps us observe how they are actually taking their medications. We may also perform psychological testing to determine any underlying causes of depression or anxiety which should be treated in addition to the Chronic Pain and which could be helping to maintain it. At least one Family Session is held to explore whether there have been unconscious payoffs within the family for being in pain.

North Las Vegas is a fast-growing, working-class city in the Las Vegas Valley with large Latino and Black communities and an economy tied to logistics, construction, and the hospitality industry's shift-work rhythms. Mental health needs here include the family strain of irregular casino and warehouse schedules, economic volatility in a tourism-dependent region, and persistent gaps in affordable, culturally competent care on the valley's north side. Residents draw on the wider Las Vegas provider market, with community clinics and telehealth playing a significant role.
