Elisabeth Kübler-Ross observed that individuals who were dying of terminal illness went through distinct stages which she described as: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and Acceptance. I find that grief is often mis-diagnosed as multiple, co-occuring diagnoses which are actually healthy expressions of the suffering the one experiences in the aftermath of trauma from a variety of possible causes.
