Wayne Ayers

Psychologist, PhD
Psychotherapy can be challenging, but it is a rewarding process. Most people come in to discuss the problems in their lives. They often forget about what is going well, and what are their natural talents and abilities. I train and supervise psychologists at area hospitals. Because of this I am sensitive to ethical concerns: honesty, integrity and practicality. I strive to create a very kind and safe atmosphere where personal exploration is possible. Psychotherapy should be collaborative. I am active and vocal and give my clients ongoing feedback, inquiry and support.

Brooklyn, New York therapist: Jenn Coonce, licensed psychoanalyst
Serving Buddhist

Jenn Coonce

Licensed Psychoanalyst, Licensed Psychoanalyst, New York State
Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck — in relationships that don't work, careers that feel hollow, or patterns they can't seem to escape no matter how hard they try. As a Licensed Psychoanalyst with over 20 years of experience, I offer a different kind of therapy: one that goes beneath the surface to understand the unconscious forces that shape your choices and experiences. Through a cooperative, supportive relationship with the right therapist, you can learn how to cope with what life throws your way, and why certain patterns keep repeating — and what you can do to change them. By talking with someone you trust and feel comfortable with, I believe anyone can learn to know themselves better and to live more consciously and deliberately.

Jenna Sackman - Online/Virtual Therapy

Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC, LPC
I specialize in working with individuals (children, teens and adults) and couples, and I am incredibly passionate about the work I do and the people with whom I have the honor to work. My areas of expertise are anxiety / stress, relationship challenges, conflict resolution, intrusive negative thoughts and patterns, loss/grief and depression. Most clients and couples choose to work with me because they are looking for nontraditional therapy that provides them with concrete skills to improve their everyday lives and/or address specific concerns. Holistic and integrative in my approach, I believe that there is no "one size fits all" in therapy. Therefore, I uniquely tailor therapy sessions to meet each client's needs and goals. With extensive experience and training in results oriented and solutions focused cognitive therapies, positive psychology, mindfulness, Buddhist Psychology, Gottman Method for Couples, meditation, and yoga, I offer creative approaches that result in meaningful change and growth. Above all, I am committed to creating therapeutic relationships that are built on trust, respect, transparency, empathy, honesty, and equality, and I always counsel from a nonjudgmental place of understanding and compassion. I am happy to offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see how I can best support you! Why wait tomorrow when you can start today? New York City, New York therapist: Dr. Stéphanie Gamache, PhD, hypnotherapist
Serving Buddhist

Dr. Stéphanie Gamache, PhD

Hypnotherapist, PhD
Something in you knows that what you're carrying runs deeper than the presenting problem. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and outwardly composed-yet internally they live with anxiety, depression, chronic tension or pain, relentless self-criticism, or a sense that something essential is blocked, muted, or just out of reach. These struggles may surface in mood, in the body, in behavior, or in relationships-including sexuality and intimacy-but they are rarely contained to any one area. They tend to reflect deeper emotional and relational patterns formed early in life, often before language, that continue to shape how a person approaches closeness, vulnerability, agency, pleasure, and self-expression. My work centers on how early experience shapes the capacity for self-regulation, desire, connection, and meaning throughout life-and particularly on how people come to know what they need and want, how they learn to express or inhibit those impulses, and what happens when these capacities become conflicted, constricted, or difficult to sustain. I integrate psychoanalytic hypnotherapy, somatic awareness, and clinical sexology within a reflective, depth-oriented process. Hypnosis functions as a central clinical tool-creating conditions for deeper internal contact with emotional, bodily, and unconscious experience that can be difficult to reach through conversation alone. The aim is not only relief from symptoms, but the development of a more coherent and compassionate relationship with one's inner life: sensations, emotions, impulses, and desires. This work is oriented toward lasting psychological change-and toward greater freedom in how one relates to oneself, one's body, and one's capacity for connection, authenticity, and vitality. It is best suited to those ready to move beyond symptom management toward something more fundamental.

As a certified professional coach, I am here to encourage you to take a breath, take a beat to consider who you are, where you are, and if you are feeling satisfaction in your own success. New York City, New York therapist: Dr. Erica Gardner-Schuster, psychologist
Serving Buddhist

Dr. Erica Gardner-Schuster

Psychologist, PhD
I am a specialized trauma- & attachment-oriented group therapist committed to helping adults heal, grow and cultivate more fulfilling relationships and lives. In my groups, healing happens in the context of a safe therapeutic community of fellow travelers who can relate, help each other feel less alone, and support one another in making the changes needed to get more out of life. I also use a liberation psychology lens to help group members explore the intersection of cultural and identify factors and mental health and feel more confident and empowered in their lives. Group therapy can help you find deeper meaning and connection through the practice of authenticity: "letting go of who we think we're supposed to be and embracing who we are" (Brené Brown). By helping you bring your full authentic self into connection, Group can help you transcend loneliness to find more fulfilling relationships. Group can help you lean into your life with more courage, compassion and vulnerability. Group can support your unique journey as you find your way home to where you belong, and to the relationships that sustain you.
