Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW-R, Licensed Psychotherapist, Trauma-Certified
Hello and welcome! I've been providing therapy for individuals and couples for over 15 years and one of the areas that I specialize in is helping people who are dealing with social isolation, low self-esteem, confidence, and depression. It is not uncommon for people to experience some depression symptoms also because of being socially isolated. If you falsely believe you are unworthy, inadequate and not "good enough" you may choose to avoid others, which can lead to feeling sad, hopeless, lonely, low-motivation, and loss of interest in different aspects of life. I can help you develop the tools and strategies to reduce these intense feelings while developing a more realistic and healthier sense of yourself. By cultivating self-compassion, assertiveness, and confidence you develop ways to reduce suffering, anxiety, social withdrawal, and self-neglect. You will discover your own unique strengths, resources and inherent wisdom while experiencing more joy and a sense of control over your life. This can help you feel more motivated to seek out social interactions and develop relationships that can be very meaningful and fulfilling.
Social isolation can affect many areas in your life and can have a negative impact not only on the quality of interactions and relationships with others but also your ability to work and function optimally and on taking care of yourself. It can hold you back from pursuing interests and activities that you might enjoy. My focus will be on exploring your unique situation and goals, and I'll tailor the therapy in a way that will benefit YOU the most. You’ll feel empowered and motivated to change negative patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that perpetuate social isolation. This can help you feel happier, function in a more productive way and feel satisfied with life overall. For further information please see my practice description and personal statement about my therapy approach and how I may be able to help. I look forward to working with you!
