Alison Edwards Therapy & Supervision

Psychologist, CBT Therapist, FMBPsS, MA (Hons), MSc, CertCouns, MSc
I specialise in the field of career counselling for psychological therapists and counsellors, having completed training in this area from the British Psychological Society. I’m experienced in providing mentoring and coaching to mid-career and early-career psychologists and counsellors, as well as recent graduates and final year psychology students. I’ve coached clients on soft skills, job applications and job interviews. I have 3 years experience of providing skills training for trainee counsellors and trainee CBT therapists. Outside of this field, I have experience in providing business mentoring for entrepreneurs who have started their own business. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss mentoring or career counselling sessions. With regards clinical supervision, I completed training in supervision for clinical psychologists from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience Kings College London (2010-11) and I also completed a BPS-accredited course in clinical supervision in 2023, which gives eligibility to join the BPS Register of Applied Psychology practice Clinical Supervisors (RAPPS).

Online in Amsterdam, North Holland (Online Only)
Amsterdam's progressive culture has historically made therapy and self-reflection a normalized part of city life, and the city has a well-developed private ecosystem serving its large international and expat population. The Dutch public mental health system (GGZ) provides psychiatric and psychological care, though waiting times for publicly funded slots are long and many residents access private therapy through supplementary health insurance. Amsterdam's large Moroccan, Surinamese, Turkish, and Indonesian communities drive demand for culturally aware and multilingual therapists. The city's severe housing shortage has created sustained financial anxiety, and therapists here frequently address the stress of maintaining affordable living in one of Europe's most expensive cities.
