Cassandre Charnel

Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Have you experienced trauma, abuse, relationship challenges or loss? Do you struggle with codependency? Do you have difficulty setting healthy boundaries? Do you want to build self-esteem and confidence? Have your attempts to create meaningful changes in your life been met, repeatedly with short-term- success? Are you losing hope with the prospect of a prosperous meaningful future? Hi! My name is Cassie, and I'm a Christian, faith-based therapist licensed in Florida and Ohio and located in the sunny (and sometimes rainy!) state of Florida. The questions posed above speak to challenges many of us are regularly faced with but may find it difficult to speak about. Instead, we may find ourselves harboring feelings of shame and guilt which blocks us from pursuing and receiving the help we need. My practice is exclusively dedicated to supporting those who wish to incorporate their Christian faith into the therapeutic process. I am passionate about serving Christian clients who are seeking support in navigating life’s challenges through a Christ-centered perspective. I believe in the power of faith to guide healing, and I am honored to walk alongside individuals who desire therapy that aligns with their beliefs. Ultimately, my desire is to help you reach a place of freedom and peace, where you can begin experiencing incremental yet impactful improvements to your overall wellbeing so your life and relationships can bear the fruit they were always meant to. I believe there’s hope for everyone, even those feeling utterly defeated in this season of their lives. If you’re here, then take it as evidence; the time for healing is now.

Columbus, Ohio therapist: Imagine Recovery Counseling LLC (Kristen Gidel Kelly), counselor/therapist

Imagine Recovery Counseling LLC (Kristen Gidel Kelly)

Counselor/Therapist, LPCC-S, LICDC, CTTS, Certified EMDR Therapist and Consultant
Kristen Gidel Kelly: FOUNDER, Imagine Recovery Counseling The first thing you need to know about me is that I am not your Traditional Therapist (I’m an EMDR and DBT nerd and super passionate about what I do!) and everyone that works for me is an extension of me and my values. I value both the science and the art, creative, and personalized experience of therapy. I value both ethical practice and the need to adapt the science that I have to fit the needs of the human being sitting in front of me. My values regarding client care: Trauma is something that happens to you, it’s not part of your identity. I work with trauma because I believe people can change and heal from their experiences. I seek to empower people to heal and grow and I truly believe you can. I have lived experience in most of the conditions that I treat or I have worked with them for a long time and have extensive training. You will not intimate me with your experience. I often tell my clients, “If I don’t know something, I will find out”. Many of the clients that come see me have had a prior therapy experience that did not go well. While I always remain humble in what I do and let folks know “You are in the driver’s seat”, I want to make it clear that I have 18 years of experience in what I do and I’m always learning and consulting with experts to be the best version of myself for my clients and my staff. I go to my own therapy and work on my own stuff. Lastly, it is part of my professional and personal ethics to respond to all client referrals within 24 hours. I feel strongly that if you reach out, I will respond. I keep our wait list intentionally low because I do not feel it’s ethical for folks to wait a long time to get help. My values regarding my group practice: I worked in community mental health and government for 17 years. Many times, I was working in a toxic, oppressive workplace and was extremely burned out. It is highly important to me to provide a healing and safe environment for my staff. I pride myself on hiring folks that are deeply aligned with my values, highly skilled and trained (it’s not always about years of experience!), and have the self respect to expect to be taken care of by their boss. I believe it’s important to always be learning. I teach my staff everything I know and provide them with free consultation and training. It is the privilege and a responsibility of a boss to take care of their people. If you work with my therapists, please know that I am taking care of them so they can skillfully take care of you! A lot of folks that come to work with me have been burned out by their previous employer and want something more. I value providing a safe, comfortable, trauma sensitive, diversity/inclusive, therapist centered working environment. Burnout will be assessed and taken seriously and consultation support is provided. It’s so important to me, I write this language into my contracts.

Charlotte, North Carolina therapist: Dr. Amy Hecht, psychologist
Serving Black / African American

Dr. Amy Hecht

Psychologist, PhD
My practice is grounded in one central idea: that family, in all of its forms, deserves to be understood, supported, and thoughtfully nurtured. I have the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families at some of the most meaningful—and often most vulnerable—moments in their lives. Whether someone is building a family, navigating challenges within one, or redefining what family means to them, my goal is always to create a space that feels both safe and genuinely supportive. A significant part of my work focuses on family building, including comprehensive evaluations for adoption, assisted reproduction, and other non-traditional pathways to parenthood. I have extensive experience working with adoptive parents, intended parents, and families formed through surrogacy, donation, and other modern family-building processes. These evaluations are not just procedural—they are an opportunity to reflect, prepare, and enter parenthood with clarity and confidence. In addition to evaluation work, I provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families. I approach this work with warmth, directness, and deep respect for each person’s experience. Whether addressing relationship strain, life transitions, trauma, or the complexities of parenting, I aim to help people better understand themselves and each other, and to move forward with intention. I have a particular passion for working with non-traditional families—those whose paths may fall outside of conventional expectations but are no less meaningful or deserving of support. My practice is inclusive, affirming, and grounded in the belief that there is no single “right” way to build or be a family. Above all, I strive to offer a space where people feel seen, understood, and guided—not judged. This is deeply personal work, and I consider it an honor to be part of my clients’ journeys.
