Psychosis can be a very scary and confusing experience. The hallucinations and delusional beliefs can cause considerable distress and difficulties with functioning. We'll work together to identify your specific issues and develop tools to help you manage your symptoms.
Psychosis refers to a collection of symptoms that affect the mind, where there has been some loss of contact with reality. During an episode of psychosis, a person's thoughts and perceptions are disrupted and they may have difficulty recognizing what is real and what is not. This can create anxiety when the person stabilizes.

As scary as it sounds, psychosis is not actually a thing. It is a label. Around 3 out of every 100 young people will experience a psychotic episode. Most make a full recovery from the experience. Psychosis can happen to anyone. An episode of psychosis is treatable, and it is possible to recover. It is often due to extreme stress and trauma which at one point or another we all experience. through emotionally focused therapy and mindfulness and often a referral for medication (if necessary) I will help regulate your stress response.
