Social Isolation

Wonderful Mess

Counsellor/Therapist, Master of Social Work, Diploma of Counselling
Having lived in 4 countries and many more locations, the topic of "social isolation" has been more and more present on my mind over the past few years. It started even before covid, as I read that people feel lonelier than ever despite being more "connected" using the technologies at hand. I am really keen to help people who feel socially isolated, whether it is because they live far from their relatives, because of pain or illness or ageing, or because of finding it hard to relate to others. Whatever sits behind social isolation, my message is simply that "you are not alone" and that I am here for you.

At Clarity Health Care, we offer compassionate, evidence-based support for individuals experiencing social isolation and loneliness. Our experienced Malvern Psychologists and Fitzroy Psychologists understand how isolation can impact emotional wellbeing, self-esteem, and mental health — often creating a difficult cycle that can feel hard to break. We work with you to explore the underlying causes of social withdrawal, such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or life transitions, and help you develop practical strategies to rebuild confidence, strengthen connections, and find meaningful engagement with others. Using therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and social skills development, we tailor support to your individual needs, goals, and pace. At Clarity, you’ll find a safe, supportive environment where you can take small, manageable steps toward reconnecting with others and enhancing your quality of life.
