Ken Knoechel - Effective Mindset

Licensed Professional Counselor, MS, LPC
Right now, I imagine you are wanting your life back. Maybe you in a situation where you are experiencing emotional abuse, or maybe you have separated yourself from the controlling person. I can help you understand how to engage situations where you feel powerless, but I can also help you process previous experiences that have adversely affected your ability to function socially or intimately. YOU CAN AND WILL TAKE BACK YOUR POWER! It usually takes me about a month (4 sessions) to bring my clients to places that resolve resilience in their lives. You can expect good things after meeting with me for a while. I hope to see you soon.

Emotional Abuse Therapy

Alena Porter

Licensed Professional Counselor, LPC, NCC
When a person is in a relationship, personal or professional, it is sometimes hard for that person to notice emotional abuse until it becomes severe or someone else notices that it is happening. This is not the client's fault, emotional abuse usually starts very subtly with harsh comments or shutting down but these behaviors are often attributed to a bad day. Over time when a person hears harsh comments enough times they start to believe them. Therapy for emotional abuse is in part helping client's recognize emotional abuse and try to set boundaries, if it is safe to do so. Then we will work to desensitize, reframe, and replace those harsh comments with positive beliefs while increasing the client's sense of self-worth.
