My training and experience is primarily in developmental (occurring in childhood) and complex (multiple and/or repeated single occurring) traumas. I work to develop a consistent, secure attachment with my clients, use appropriate therapeutic boundaries, and provide coping skills training as a foundation for healing for these individuals. Often, clients want to jump into processing their traumas before they have the tools to assist this process; that approach can actually do more harm to a person who does not have adequate skills to cope.
With over 8 years of experience and a history of working in a hospital setting, I take pride in assisting you on your journey of stability. I hope to assist with creating a treatment plan that can serve you well. Stabilization is important to your health and wellness. It most important to take your time and learn about your diagnosis and appropriate measures to take in crisis.
At New Dimensions, we have assembled a team of professionals that is dedicated to helping people transform their lives. Our mental health professionals are committed to providing the best treatment possible so that you can overcome the obstacles that keep you from having the life that you want.
I specialize in the assessment and treatment of PTSD and cPTSD. As mentioned elsewhere here, I utilize a multifaceted approach that is customized to the needs of each individual person I work with. When suitable, and with sufficient preparation, I emphasize EMDR as my treatment approach of choice.

Using trauma-informed approaches and evidence-based techniques, we'll work together to gently navigate the complexities of your trauma, empowering you to reclaim your sense of safety and agency. Whether you're struggling with past abuse, accidents, or other traumatic events, I'm here to offer compassionate guidance and practical tools to help you move forward. Your trauma does not define you, and with the right support, you can rewrite your story and create a future filled with hope and resilience.
I specifically focus on people with religious trauma. You might not have thought about your trauma as religious. But did you have a tough time growing up in a strict church environment? So did I. Maybe you didn't even realize the effect it had on you until much later in life.
I use Internal Family Systems therapy, which is an approach used specifically for trauma. However, it is not a PTSD approach. If you suffer from severe PTSD symptoms, I'm probably not the right fit for you. If you're not sure, schedule a free consultation. I can provide you with referrals to PTSD specialists if we decide that's appropriate.

Trauma and PTSD are held in our bodies. Memories, feelings, smells, sounds, sites, situations, and events can act as stimuli being triggered into intense emotional or physical reactions, such as panic attacks. Therapeutic interventions help our brains to learn new ways to reorganize synaptic connections resulting in lessening or release of symptoms and triggers from the trauma(s). EMDR and other evidence-based modalities integrative therapies are used. After successful EMDR therapy, emotional distress is relieved, negative beliefs and limitations are reformulated into positive beliefs and strengths, and physiological arousal is reduced. EMDR therapy is offered online with eye movement, audio or physical bilateral stimulation based upon the client's preference.
