Our society does a very thorough job of telling us what we should look like, and how our looks mean something in particular about us as people--when that's not how personalities work. This becomes even more difficult when we bring in what we're told and not told about food! Unfortunately, there's quite a bit of misinformation out there that impacts us so painfully.
Let's work together to untangle your sense of self and sense of worth from how you look, and make peace with your body and reflection, while also healing your relationship with food.
Are you in more of a "maintenance phase" of eating disorder recovery? Or, are you worried about your relationship with food even though you aren't experiencing specific medical side effects? Either way, I may be the right fit for you.
I've worked with eating disorders in several levels of care - from once-weekly outpatient sessions, to working with folx in 24/7 residential care. Nowadays, I only offer outpatient work with people. If it turns out you need more support than what I offer, I can help you get hooked up with the right team.
Individuals with eating disorders experience physical, emotional, and psychological harm. Eating disorders are complicated mental health conditions. My priority is to comprehend these disorders and treat them with knowledge and empathy. I assist people in developing healthier relationships with food, their bodies, and themselves through individualized support and evidence-based interventions, promoting recovery and long-term wellbeing.
I am a tool! Really, I am a professional tool. I consider myself an instrument to be used in your life to help you redesign, renovate, remodel, and/or rebuild your life.
